OLYMPIC COVERAGE BIASED?

One of the aspects of this Olympics that is irritating many viewers is the newscasters seeming lack of appreciation for women. When asked why NBC would not be airing the opening ceremony live, chief marketing officer John Miller said that the majority of viewers were women and that they preferred edited and packaged taping, rather than the live commentary. Furthermore, when Hungarian swimmer Katinka Hosszu broke a world record in the 400m individual medley (IM), NBC’s Dan Hicks suggested it was due to her husband’s spirited cheering on the sidelines.
