MICHAEL PHELPS MAKES HISTORY

Both Katie Ledecky and Michael Phelps have been forces to reckon with in the water, but despite Ledecky claiming her second title of the games, it was Phelps who commanded the spotlight. After being trash talked by his rival from South Africa, Chad le Clos, Phelps decided to send a message, one which got across in emphatic fashion. Phelps took home the gold in both the men’s 4x200m relay and the 200m butterfly, avenging his loss to le Clos in the 2012 London Games. Phelps’ wins yesterday make him the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a record 21 gold medals.
