The humanitarian crisis in Venezuela just gets worse every time we look at it. First, the government is in massive debt, with even larger loans to pay off. Second, people are running out of basic necessities, such as toilet paper. However, the most recent development, one which has been a long time coming, makes one wonder how Venezuela will come out of this hole they’ve dug. Food exports have decreased massively to the South American country. The reasons are not political, but rather fiscal. Venezuelan currency has decreased so much in value that buying food is nigh on impossible.
