A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIBOK GIRLS

In 2014, the kidnapping of over 200 female students from a school in Chibok, Nigeria sparked outrage, creating the hashtag “Bring Back Our Girls”. However, after some time, people began to lose hope that the girls were still alive. A recent video released by the group responsible, terrorist faction Boko Haram, proved otherwise. The 11-minute long video depicted approximately 50 girls in headscarves, one of whom was ordered to speak. The girl, identified as Yakubu Kabu, was told to tell the Nigerian government to release Boko Haram leaders in exchange for the safety of the girls.
