LOUISIANA’S GARGANTUAN RAINFALL

Louisiana has been subject to extreme rainfall over the last week. Homes have been damaged, streets flooded and lives have stopped due to this uncharacteristic weather. Despite predictions that the rain should let up around this time, there is no sign of it ceasing. Up till this point, statistics show that over 40,000 homes were destroyed by the nearly 7 million gallons of water that have poured down from the heavens. However, while the death toll mounts to 11 people, the number of people saved, 20,000, offers hope that Louisiana can come out of this deluge relatively unscathed.
