CHICAGO TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY

The shooting of Laquan McDonald was unnecessary and uncalled for. Despite police reports that McDonald was lunging towards them with a knife, dash cam security footage showed McDonald walking away from police cars, albeit carrying a knife. It further showed Officer Jason Van Dyke jumping out of his car and waiting a grand total of six seconds before firing every round of his gun into the Chicago teenager. In 15 seconds, Officer Jason Van Dyke shot Laquan McDonald sixteen times. The Chicago police department has advocated for the firing of seven officers, six of whom were with Van Dyke.
