ANALYZING 49ERS' INITIAL 53-MAN ROSTER, AND WHERE CHANGES STILL COULD BE MADE

There is no clarity with 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, but a lot of other pieces to the puzzle came into focus on Tuesday. The 49ers made the necessary moves and designations to trim their roster from 90 players to the 53-player limit by Tuesday's 1 p.m. PT deadline.
Jennings, who has not practiced since July 27 due to a calf injury, remained on the active roster, as expected. But there was no immediate word on any kind of contract resolution for Jennings, who is seeking a new deal as he enters the second season of a two-year, $15.3 million contract.
