BARRON TAKES LEAD IN QATAR WITH BLISTERING BACK NINE

Haydn Barron surged ahead in the Qatar Masters after the second round on Friday, carding a remarkable five-under-par 67 with five birdies on the back nine. The Australian now holds a two-shot lead, standing at nine-under-par overall. His closest competitors, compatriot Harrison Endycott and Japan's Rikuya Hoshino, sit at seven-under-par after both posting four-under-par rounds.

Barron, who started the day one shot behind leaders Ashun Wu and Zander Lombard, maintained steady play with pars on the front nine before hitting his stride after the turn, finishing strong with birdies on the last three holes to seize control of the leaderboard.
