CSU FACULTY RALLIES CONTINUE AS STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE BEGINS

Rallies are taking place across California State University campuses in the Bay Area and across the state as the threat of a future strike escalates for tens of thousands of faculty members. Some rallies started before Wednesday, and almost two dozen more schools are expected to hold rallies through mid-November. Wednesday coincides with the start of a strike authorization vote for union members within the CSU system.
Last week, San Jose State University union members picketed to spotlight the need for better pay so faculty and staff can keep up with a cost of living they say is a "nightmare." Cal State East Bay also held a rally last week. San Francisco State and Sonoma State will follow Wednesday as part of almost two dozen schools that will hold rallies during the strike authorization vote period.
