EQUINIX HIRES GOOGLE CLOUD EXECUTIVE AS CEO

Equinix, a prominent data center operator, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Adaire Fox-Martin, an executive from Alphabet's Google Cloud division, as its new CEO. Fox-Martin, who has served on Equinix's board since 2020, will officially assume the role in the latter part of the next quarter. She brings with her extensive experience from Google Cloud, where she has been employed for three years, along with previous leadership roles at software giants SAP and Oracle. Fox-Martin's appointment comes as Equinix's current CEO, Charles Meyers, prepares to transition to the position of executive chair after a successful six-year tenure.

Peter Van Camp, Equinix's current executive chair, will step down from the board to take on the role of special advisor. The company's decision reflects its commitment to leadership continuity and strategic guidance amid a dynamic and evolving market landscape. Equinix recently provided a positive outlook for its adjusted core earnings, citing optimism regarding sustained client investments in its data centers, particularly as more businesses explore opportunities in artificial intelligence technology.
