ESSILORLUXOTTICA REVENUE UP 7.1% IN Q4 DRIVEN BY CHINA AND BRAZIL

In the last quarter of 2023, revenue at eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica surged by 7.1% at constant exchange rates, reaching 6.25 billion euros. This growth was notably boosted by strong performances in China and Brazil. The company also announced robust sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa during the October-December period. For the full year, revenue broadly aligned with analyst consensus forecasts provided by LSEG, amounting to 25.4 billion euros.
In North America, which serves as the group's primary market, growth exhibited a softer trajectory compared to other regions. However, there was a slight acceleration in growth during the last quarter compared to the preceding one. Despite challenges posed by rising inflation, currency fluctuations, and investments to bolster new initiatives like myopia management lenses and smart glasses, adjusted operating profit for the year surged by 7.7% to reach 4.2 billion euros.
