NEWS Desk Global

The first integrated transit-oriented development (TOD) hub in the city, located at Karkardooma, is making significant progress, with the economically weaker section (EWS) housing component set to be completed by February 28th. This segment of the project includes 498 flats spread across 22 floors, along with basement parking facilities. During a recent visit by TOI, finishing works such as the installation of lifts, laying of cables, and tiling of common areas were observed to be in progress within the complex. An official from the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), the implementing agency for the project, mentioned that the construction of the flats has been completed, and focus is now on the external development of the complex. Efforts are underway to establish an approach road to the EWS tower, and plans for sewer connectivity are also in motion. Additionally, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is coordinating with BSES Yamuna Private Limited to ensure power supply to the hub. These developments mark significant strides in the realization of the TOD hub, which aims to enhance connectivity and provide essential housing infrastructure in the area.
