GRIZZLY BEARS ARE SET TO BE REINTRODUCED TO WASHINGTON STATE, AFTER YEARS OF DEBATE
Updated: May 1
The federal government announced this week that grizzly bears will be reintroduced to Washington state's North Cascades mountain range, following years of contentious debate. However, the actual reintroduction process may take several years to unfold.
The process involves complex logistics, including trapping, transporting, and relocating bears from regions such as British Columbia or northwestern Montana via helicopter. Due to these challenges, it may be some time before the bears are reintroduced to the remote and rugged landscape of the North Cascades.
