ICC ANNOUNCES 26 MATCH OFFICIALS FOR T20 WORLD CUP
The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed on Friday the appointment of 26 match officials for the first round of matches of the T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the West Indies and USA from June 1 onwards. This group comprises 20 umpires and six match referees who will oversee the proceedings of the ninth edition of this prestigious event.
Notably, this edition will feature a record 20 participating teams, competing in a total of 55 matches over 28 days across nine venues. This makes it the largest ICC T20 World Cup in the tournament's history.The list of match referees includes Ranjan Madugalle, who officiated the 2022 final between England and Pakistan, alongside the format's most experienced referee, Jeff Crowe.
