JINDAL STAINLESS WILL INVEST RS 5,400 CRORE TO EXPAND CAPACITY TO 4.2 MT




Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) is embarking on a significant expansion journey, with plans to invest Rs 5,400 crore to enhance its capacity to 4.2 million tonnes per annum. Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal shared this ambitious investment plan during a press conference, highlighting the company's commitment to growth and expansion. The investments will be deployed over the next two years, with approximately 90% of the funding sourced from internal accruals. This strategy underscores the company's financial strength and confidence in its expansion initiatives.

The investment plan includes boosting the company's melting capacity by over 40% to 4.2 million tonnes per annum, requiring an investment of more than Rs 700 crore. Additionally, around Rs 1,900 crore has been allocated for the expansion of downstream lines at the JSL plant in Jajpur, Odisha. These investments signify JSL's strategic focus on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities and enhancing its position in the stainless steel industry. By expanding its capacity and downstream operations, the company aims to meet growing market demand and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the sector.
