To tackle the rising air pollution that grips the city every winter, Delhi Development Authority on Friday launched an automatic anti-smog misting system in Dwarka's Sector 19.
Covering a 6.8km stretch along road numbers 224 and 210 from Chandanwari Apartments in Sector 10 to Omaxe Mall in Sector 19 and from the command tank in Sector 20 to the Sector 21 metro station traffic signal, the system has been fitted on 166 streetlight poles. Each pole is equipped with 30 high-pressure misting nozzles placed at a height of five metres. "This height ensures that the mist sprays higher into the air, improving its efficiency in settling smog and dust," an official said. The nozzles spray RO-treated water at a rate of 2.8 litres per hour.
