NORTH-EAST STATES GET RS 4,136 CRORE EQUITY SUPPORT FOR 15,000 MW HYDEL PROJECTS

The government on Wednesday cleared Rs 4,136 crore equity support to northeast states for speeding up development of hydropower projects with a total capacity of 15,000 MW with a view to meeting the country’s climate commitment.

The money will be used to support equity participation by the northeastern states through joint ventures between their entities and Central public sector developers of the hydroelectric projects.
