The recent pact between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) marks a significant milestone in the strengthening relationship between the two nations. This agreement focuses on expediting the operationalization of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). Signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the UAE, the pact aims to bolster regional connectivity and serve as a robust response to China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The recent discussions between Prime Minister Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan have laid the foundation for the ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) project. Initially unveiled at the G20 Summit in New Delhi, this corridor is set to traverse through India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel, and onward to Europe. With the potential to reshape the strategic and economic dynamics of the region, the IMEC holds promise for enhanced connectivity and prosperity along its route.
