SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS LEGEND AND HALL OF FAMER WILLIE MAYS DIES AT 93

San Francisco Giants legend and baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays has died, the team and his family announced Tuesday. He was 93. The two-time Major League Baseball most valuable player and 24-time All-Star is regarded by many as one of the best baseball players ever.

"My father has passed away peacefully and among loved ones," son Michael Mays said in a statement. "I want to thank you all from the bottom of my broken heart for the unwavering love you have shown him over the years. You have been his life's blood." Mays became a star for the New York Giants, leading the team to the 1954 World Series title. When the Giants moved to San Francisco in 1958, the city immediately fell in love with the "Say Hey Kid."
