San Jose city crews will return to a known encampment to ask people to move out of the area once again. The city said it has been working for about a year to build up housing so when outreach teams ask unhoused residents to move out, they have somewhere to go.
It’s not the first time the city has cleared out this area called Coyote Meadows, which you might remember as the notorious encampment known as the “Jungle.” It’s the area near Story and Senter roads, near Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. A city housing official said they learned from moving people out of the Columbus Park encampment and into shelters all in the same day.
