San Jose voters this June will decide on a measure to boost the city's hotel tax. This follows a vote on Tuesday by council members that passed the ballot measure. The proposal calls to raise the tax to 12% from the current 10%.
Supporters said it would raise an additional $10 million in revenues each year to help offset a $65 million shortfall. The vote will need a simple majority to pass.
