STARBUCKS IS INTRODUCING A COLD DRINK CUP MADE WITH UP TO 20% LESS PLASTIC

Starbucks is tackling the environmental impact of its popular cold drinks by introducing new disposable cups with up to 20% less plastic. The move comes in response to the growing issue of plastic waste generated by single-use cups for beverages like Frappuccinos, Refreshers, and cold brews.

Amelia Landers, Starbucks' vice president of product innovation, highlighted the company's four-year effort to develop these new cups. Engineers conducted extensive testing to find the optimal balance between reducing plastic usage and maintaining the cup's durability and functionality. The result is a more sustainable option for customers in the U.S. and Canada, with plans for rollout starting this month.
