The Giants are adding additional arms to the starting rotation. San Francisco agreed to a one-year free-agent contract with right-handed starting pitcher Tyler Mahle.

Mahle, 31, posted a 6-4 record with 66 strikeouts, 29 walks and a 2.18 ERA in 86 2/3 innings pitched for the Texas Rangers last season.
