Skipper Shreyas Iyer and veteran Ajinkya Rahane hit quick-fire fifties, powering Mumbai to a commanding five-wicket victory over Maharashtra in a Group C match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Wednesday.

Shreyas, recently signed by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore in the IPL mega auction, played a blistering knock of 71 off 39 balls, smashing eight fours and three sixes to anchor Mumbai’s chase of 172.
