The India Patent Office rejected an application by Johnson and Johnson to extend their patent on anti-Tuberculosis medicine, Bedaquiline, Nandita Venkatesan who survived tuberculosis was very emotional. This decision allows for mass production of cheaper and generic versions of this life-saving drug which can reduce treatment time to only 6 months.
