US HOPING FOR WIDER FARM GOODS PURCHASES DEAL FROM CHINA IN TRUMP'S TRIP

The U.S. is aiming to get agreement on a broader range of farm goods purchases by China beyond soybeans during President Donald Trump's planned visit there next month, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on Wednesday.
"We're also looking to get a commitment from the Chinese overall with respect to all agriculture," Greer said during a congressional hearing on the administration's trade priorities. "This is something that we hope is a deliverable coming in May when the president goes to China, and we're trying to establish a mechanism with China to facilitate expanded trade in nonsensitive goods, which would include of course agriculture."
