The Rehabilitation Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center is one of the best in the nation. The center was ranked No. 7 on the media outlet's list, recognized for its comprehensive care for patients with spinal cord and brain injuries, along with its rehabilitation technology and research.
About 800 patients a year are admitted to the center. One of those is an avid hiker named Isabelle from Burlingame, who says she injured her thoracic vertebrae in an accident and can't walk. After extensive research, she chose Valley Medical's rehab center for care.
