More than 200 personnel were battling a wildfire burning in the hills east of Calistoga that swelled to 1,045 acres and prompted evacuations Thursday evening, fire officials said. The area burned was revised from an earlier estimate of 1,200 acres.
The Calistoga Community Center has opened for evacuees from the Pickett Fire, which was reported shortly before 3 p.m. along Pickett Road near the Kenefick Ranch Vineyard and Winery.
