SHAAN ENTHRALLS THE BAY AREA

The Flint Center, Cupertino today was host to a whole lot of gaana, naach and masti thanks to Shaan!

Sankara Eye Foundation's Shaan concert with the little champs today was a roaring success with the show running to packed houses.

The charity benefit concert received a lot of love from the Bay Area Indian community. The concert opened with a couple of songs by the vivacious Ambili Menon. The young sensation crooned a couple of the recent popular Hindi chart busters.

To add more color to the proceedings little champs Gagan Gaonkar and Arunita Kanjilal sang some beautiful melodies. The duo are a bundle of talent with great energy levels.

The star attraction of the evening was Shaan who made a dashing entry in typical Bollywood style. The singer opened the proceedings with his hit song from the movie Don. The biggest round of applause was reserved for the melodious hits 'Chaar Kadam' and 'Chaand Sifarish.'

The splendid evening received a further boost with the singer trying his hand at mimicry. The audience was in splits with Shaan mimicking some of his contemporaries as well as seniors like Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam, Mika Singh to name a few. Who would have thought Shaan is a man of varied talents!

The second half of the concert was dedicated to the music industry's yesteryear stalwarts. Shaan paid a tribute to the seven legendary voices of the Indian music industry whom he chose to call as "saath sur of the Hindi film music industry." The singer paid rich tributes to artistes like KL Saigal, Talat Mahmood, Hemant Kumar, Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar in a performance which was soul stirring and touching. The audience was truly mesmerized by the performance.

Interestingly for the tribute, Shaan chose songs which were related to the beauty and significance of eyes and eyesight keeping with the mission of Sankara Eye Foundation.

The concert was a great success thanks to the efforts and aggressive promotions by the Sankara Eye Foundation and Radio DeHotties. Proceeds of the event will go to charity and will fund eye surgeries for people in India.
