CRICKET UPDATE ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2016

INDIA VS PAKISTAN T-20 : HOSTS INDIA DEFEATED ARCH-RIVALS PAKISTAN BY SIX WICKETS

In the all important titanic clash in the World Cup T20 match in Kolkata, between arch rivals India and Pakistan, India managed to beat Pakistan comprehensively by six wickets with 25 balls to spare but not before suffering some initial hiccups at the start of their innings. Rain reduced the match to an 18 overs a side affair. India inserted Pakistan in, and Pakistan had a fairly decent start to their innings, posting 38 in the eighth over before they lost their first wicket. However the middle order batsmen failed to capitalize on the good start, and Pakistan never regained much ground though Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik put on 41 for the fourth wicket and briefly threatened a recovery.

Pakistan finished with 118 off their 18 overs, and this was never going to be enough against an Indian team that has a player by name Virat Kohli batting at the pivotal No. 3 position. And so it turned out. India lost Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina within the first five overs, but Virat Kohli expertly guided India with a steady hand and played a handsome innings of 55 unbeaten. Giving him invaluable support was Yuvraj Singh who showed glimpses of his past with a couple of strokes but was generally subdued in making 24 off 23 balls. Virat Kohli completed the task on hand without breaking a sweat as India romped home by six wickets. Virat Kohli the Man of the Match.
