CAN THE U.S. STOP LIONEL MESSI?
It’s a summer of football and a year of upsets. The motto for 2016 has been expect the unexpected. Who would have expected Leicester City to win the Premier League or Manchester City to make the Champions League semifinals? However, the greatest upset can happen Tuesday night when the United States play Argentina in the semifinals of the Copa America Centenario. Despite the best performance in recent memory from the USMNT, Argentina’s performance throughout the tournament has been masterful. Since the return of Lionel Messi, the team has looked increasingly dangerous. However, the U.S. have shown consistent improvement in the tournament. While they are underdogs in this game, they could pull off one of the biggest upsets in U.S. soccer history.
