Donald Trump has made his choice for his running mate on the 2016 ticket. And the winner is...Mike Pence, Governor of Indiana. In a tweet yesterday, the GOP nominee said that he was pleased to announce that Mike Pence would be his running mate. The news conference is to be held tomorrow at 11 AM. The pairing is an unorthodox one, as their is a major clash in their styles. Whereas Trump has the tendency to stray far up the reservation, making bold statements that no one else would even consider, Pence has the tendency to toe the conservative line very carefully, sticking to Republican orthodoxy. It was a smart political decision for Trump, however. With Pence’s backing, the GOP nominee gets the support of influential conservative donors, such as the Koch brothers, who have not declared monetary support for Trump as yet.
