RUSSIA STRIKES SYRIA AGAIN

Russian forces cooperated with an Iranian air base in order to launch strikes against Daesh command posts. The United States was worried that the alliance with Tehran would violate U.N. rules. The strikes pushed the Russians further into the five year Syrian conflict. Despite the U.S’ anger at the move, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov argued that since Russia was not supplying Iran with aircraft, it was not violating any U.N. commandments. The two countries are on opposing sides, as Russia supports Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while the U.S. wants him gone.
