The civil aviation ministry has issued a show-cause notice to Air India over alleged procedural lapses that allowed three Italian passengers to board a connecting flight from Delhi without completing immigration formalities earlier this month. The notice has been issued to Air India CEO Campbell Wilson.
The home ministry has also convened a meeting of stakeholders on Tuesday to discuss the incident, sources told news agency PTI. The three passengers flew from Amritsar to Delhi on September 4 before boarding a Lufthansa flight to Munich from Delhi airport. However, they did not complete the required immigration formalities at the airport, sources added.
