BICYCLIST DIES AFTER COLLISION IN SAN JOSE

A bicyclist was killed in a collision early Friday morning in San Jose, police said.

Officers responded at about 4:20 a.m. to the intersection of Trimble Road and North First Street for a collision involving a bicyclist. When officers arrived, they found an adult man unconscious and not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police. Police did not immediately release additional details about what led up to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing. Several streets in the area were closed Friday morning as officers investigated. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
