Thursday, seven of the top candidates in the race to be California's next governor faced off in San Francisco in what will likely be the final major debate before the June primary.
Featured on the debate stage were two Republicans (former Fox News host Steve Hilton and Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco) and five Democrats (former Congresswoman Katie Porter, former state attorney general Xavier Becerra, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, and billionaire philanthropist Tom Steyer). With the stakes rising and the race still very crowded, tensions rose to a boiling point between candidates throughout the night.
