CENTRE FORMS COMMITTEE WILL MONITOR BANGLADESH BORDER AMID POLITICAL UNREST

The Centre on Friday constituted a committee to monitor the situation on the eastern frontier arising out of the political events in Bangladesh and to maintain a line of communication with the authorities in the neighbouring country to ensure the safety of Indian citizens and the minority communities there.
Shah further informed that the committee will be led by additional director general, BSF of Eastern Command and comprise BSF Inspectors General (IGs) in charge of South Bengal and Tripura frontier headquarters. Others in the committee include the secretary of Land Ports Authority (LPAI) and member (planning and development), LPAI.
