In an initiative that may position Delhi at the forefront of India's green governance movement, lieutenant governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Delhi legislative assembly speaker Vijender Gupta laid the foundation stone for a 500 kW solar power plant at the assembly premises.

This project will make the Delhi legislative assembly the first in the country to operate entirely on solar energy, setting a national benchmark for sustainable and responsible governance. Chief minister Rekha Gupta also attended the event as the chief guest.
