Three private schools and the Indore mayor’s office received bomb threat emails ahead of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s scheduled concert in the city on November 15, with preliminary investigations suggesting that the messages were hoaxes, police said. The emails, written in Punjabi, threatened bomb blasts at the schools and warned their managements against sending students to the concert, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya told reporters.

Bomb disposal squads searched all three schools following the threats but found no explosives, Dandotiya said. The office of Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava also received a similar email threatening a bomb blast in connection with Dosanjh’s upcoming performance. The matter is under investigation, the police officer said.
