With hot and windy weather coming later this week, firefighters are bracing for increased fire danger in the Bay Area and across the state.
Crews already are battling wildfires in Northern and Central California: The Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo County has burned about 65,000 acres and is just 3% contained; and the Lake Fire in Lake County has scorched 340 acres and is 40% contained. Weather conditions won't be helping much as higher temperatures and stronger winds are coming this Thursday and Friday.
