FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE BLAZE IN DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE

Firefighters on Tuesday battled a two-alarm fire in downtown San Jose, the department said. The blaze broke out on the 100 block of North Fourth Street.
The fire department said the fire involved debris from structures that had been bulldozed in recent months and was scheduled to be cleared on Tuesday. A neighboring residence was evacuated. That building suffered moderate external damage, the fire department said.
