MORE THAN A FOOT OF SNOW FELL SINCE SATURDAY

UC Berkeley's Sierra Snow Lab said Sunday morning it received 13.6 inches of snow the previous 24 hours, and 25.6 inches the past week. The most recent storm moved the site to 51 percent of median snowfall and 41 percent of median snowfall date. The lab said it expects more snow Tuesday and Wednesday. A fast-moving winter storm brought some significant snowfall in the higher elevations of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Just 0.2" of snow fell in Central Park so New York City's streak is up to 692 days without least 1" of measurable snow, but some of our northern suburbs got a foot or more. In Orange County, Port Jervis led the way with more than 13 inches and Unionville picked up 12.4". In New Jersey, close to a foot of snow fell in Sussex County, while more modest totals of 5.7" in Franklin Lakes (Bergen) and 5" in Totowa (Passaic).
