MUMBAI AIRPORT CARGO VOLUMES GROW 6% IN FY24

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai reported a notable 6% year-on-year growth in overall cargo volumes for the financial year 2023-24, encompassing both domestic and international cargo. Specifically, international cargo volumes saw a significant uptick of 10%, indicating a robust expansion in global trade activities facilitated by the airport. Furthermore, CSMIA witnessed a noteworthy 20% increase in the total number of Cargo Air Traffic Movements (ATMs), reflecting the airport's growing significance as a pivotal hub for cargo transportation.

CSMIA boasts connectivity to a vast network of nearly 700 cargo destinations, positioning it as a crucial gateway for freight movement on both domestic and international fronts. Among the various categories of products transported internationally via CSMIA's air cargo services, automobile products, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture products emerged as the top three. On the other hand, in the realm of general cargo, engineering goods and post office (PO) mail ranked as the top two categories of products transported domestically from CSMIA. These statistics underscore CSMIA's pivotal role in facilitating the efficient movement of goods across diverse sectors, contributing to the region's economic vitality and global connectivity.
