PARIS PREPARES FOR 100-DAY COUNTDOWN TO THE OLYMPICS

In the outskirts of Paris, a young girl named Lyla Kebbi eagerly anticipates the conclusion of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For 10-year-old Lyla, the end of the Games means something special for her swimming club. The Olympic pool used in the Games will be dismantled and transported from its current location in Paris' high-rise business district to Sevran, a town in the Paris area known for its relative lack of glamour and wealth. Once reassembled, this pool will provide Lyla and her swim team with access to a new Olympic-sized facility.

Lyla expresses her excitement, calling it "incredible," while her mother, Nora, shares her hopes for the pool bringing them luck. With just 100 days until the Paris Olympics commence, anticipation is building for the waterborne opening ceremony. Yet, beyond the spectacle, the success of these Games will also be measured by their impact on disadvantaged suburbs like Sevran, highlighting a broader aim to extend the benefits of the Games to areas outside the city center.
