A preliminary 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck near San Juan Bautista in San Benito County, according to the United States Geological Survey. The quake hit at 8:14 p.m. and was centered 2.4 miles south of San Juan Bautista and 8.4 miles west of Hollister, California.
