In an intense matchup, the New York Rangers emerged victorious with a thrilling 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, securing a 2-0 lead in their second-round playoff series. Vincent Trocheck proved to be the hero, netting a power-play goal off a rebound at 7:24 of the second overtime period. Alexis Lafreniere was instrumental for the Rangers, scoring two goals, while Chris Kreider contributed with a power-play goal. Artemi Panarin showcased his playmaking abilities with two assists. In a standout performance, goaltender Igor Shesterkin made a season-high 54 saves, playing a crucial role in securing the win for the Rangers.

The victory marked the Rangers' sixth consecutive win in the postseason and their eighth straight win overall, extending back to the regular season. Notably, it was their first overtime playoff win since Game 7 of the first round in 2022 against Pittsburgh. Despite the loss, the Hurricanes put up a strong fight, with Jake Guentzel scoring twice and Dmitry Orlov also finding the back of the net. Sebastian Aho stood out with three assists, while goaltender Frederik Andersen made 35 saves in a commendable effort.
