SAN MATEO COUNTY LEADERS CONSIDER 3 CANDIDATES FOR SHERIFF

San Mateo County supervisors on Wednesday are scheduled to interview three candidates for the vacant sheriff's seat. The supervisors are seeking to replace ousted sheriff Christina Corpus, who was removed from the post amid accusations of corruption and retaliation, which she has denied.
All three candidates have law enforcement experience in the Bay Area: Kenneth Binder is the interim police chief in Gilroy and former undersheriff in Santa Clara County;David Lazar spent 33 years with the San Francisco Police Department; and Brian Wynn Huynh Travis is the chief of the Solano Community College District.
