Toyota is set to announce a substantial investment of 11 billion reais ($2.2 billion) over the next few years in Brazil, as confirmed by the country's vice-president. The investment is expected to be disclosed at an event to be held at Toyota's factory in Sorocaba, São Paulo state.

According to Brazil's vice-president and minister for industry, Geraldo Alckmin, the investment will lead to the creation of 2,000 jobs and the introduction of new vehicle models. Reports suggest that Toyota plans to manufacture a hybrid car and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at its Sorocaba facility, although specific details about the models have not been provided. This investment by Toyota follows similar commitments made by other global automakers in Brazil this year, including Volkswagen, General Motors, and Hyundai Motor, reflecting the country's importance as a key market for the automotive industry.
