US JUDGE WEIGHS PUTTING NEW BLOCK ON TRUMP'S BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP ORDER

U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin in Boston heard arguments Friday (July 18, 2025) from 18 states and the District of Columbia urging him to maintain his February nationwide injunction blocking President Trump’s executive order that aimed to restrict birthright citizenship.

Meanwhile, in New Hampshire, Judge Joseph Laplante issued his own nationwide injunction on July 10, based on a class-action challenge, effectively blocking the order. With no administrative appeal filed, that injunction took effect Friday.
