WEBB DOMINATES AND BATS WAKE UP IN WIN VS. RAYS

As Nick Ahmed stepped into the batter's box during the top of the sixth inning, Thairo Estrada passed by Logan Webb in the visiting dugout at Tropicana Field. Webb couldn't help but grin widely as he witnessed his teammates celebrating a significant inning—a sight he hasn't had the chance to enjoy frequently. The Giants surged with three runs in the sixth inning and continued their offensive onslaught, ultimately overpowering the Tampa Bay Rays with an impressive 11-2 victory, following days of frustration for the lineup. The dominant display was particularly surprising considering it unfolded behind Webb, who has been reminiscent of Matt Cain's unfortunate lack of run support.

Despite being the staff ace who typically doesn't require much backing, Webb received ample support on Saturday, with a couple of early home runs doing the job. Thairo Estrada stood out with two homers, contributing to the Giants' five homers overall, breaking a 10-day streak without a home run trot. LaMonte Wade Jr., Jorge Soler, and Matt Chapman also joined in with home runs. Webb effectively shut down the Rays, allowing just one run over seven impressive innings. He secured his first win of the year in a game that was so one-sided that the Rays even let catcher Ben Rortvedt take over in the eighth and ninth innings.
